    Calm before the storm

Just had a text from a mates Dad to say his boy cleaned up with a 210 Kg Blue Marlin in the Whiti trailer boat comp . Some good fishing was had over the last 3 days, with another mate getting kingis to 22kg, and Mahimahi still getting caught.
Maybe the fish were scoffing as they know a big storm is coming

Almost forgot. Congrats to Cody Hamilton on the big Blue
    Munsey and Boulderman like this.

Mate just got back to Haast a couple days ago. He was saying it is the second year in a row they won the biggest marlin in some comp. Won 30k?
He had huge mahimahi and snaps as well.

Yeah I never asked which one but he is pretty chuffed.
Jammy prick at the best of times. But had most of his front teeth knocked out by a crewy that slipped a gaff on a fish.

No. They are regular visitors around inshore waters of Mercury bay. Just need the warm water to come in close.
    Never caught one personally.

    Yip.
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !
