Yip the Tongariro is fishing well river mouths still pretty slow. Hooked 3 out of the same pool in 30min. This amateur fly fisherman managed to land one.

Nice bit of river there,gota be trout in those deep holes.
Ended the day 50/50 four hooked two landed, cover a few miles , saw good number of fish nothing over 3 pound! Water clear but fish weren’t to spooky! Great day out in the sun!

all caught trolling,the top two were within minute of starting run,wife got middle fish while still letting line out,hadnt shut bail arm yet,took with whack and gave her one hell of a fright LOL. I got the smallest one next only 50-100 yards away,then wife caught n lost one,landed another smaller one,released it...I decided to go for hoom across to far end of lake,a long troll for nought then the biggest fish as light was fading,it might have gone 3 pounds....all have beautiful orange flesh.....all filleted ready to batter and fry now
life is good.
