They taste like shit mate, have tried them a couple of times, but with a muddy slow flowing river they have no muscle tone and smell and taste like a bucket of mud. They are a noxious pest here, it is illegal to throw them back in the water. I don't even like eating murray cod or goldern perch, too fatty and mud tasting for me, I do like cat fish, if you can catch one, and silver perch are pretty good.
