How do you tell a rig from a standard dog fish?

rig have no teeth just hard gums. also the spots and bronzy colour. they also generally don't touch baits normal dogfish will take. crabs/crayfish/prawns all good for rig.

Spiny dogfish are the scurge of every fisherman. Greyboys or smooth hounds are lent to be ok eating but iv always released them. 7 gillers are good to eat aswell but I'd sooner leave them in the water too.

Mate caught 8 rig last weekend with a mate of the beach here so they moving in. Greyboys are very good eating also .
After keeping my first sevengill for eating a few months ago have to say i thought it was better than rig. Very nice indeed. I be out chasing the rig soon and looking at catching and releasing another bronzie of
    the beach this season
