Fishing charter options Havelock North/Nelson region.

Team, there will be a few of us in Blenheim form work in early March that just happens to coincide with the Mussel festival in Havelock. A few of us are keen to get on the water and do some fishing and we don’t know where to start in terms of organising a good charter operator.

Any suggestions on who is good, who to avoid etc– happy to drive a bit if it gives us better fishing opportunities.

    Hi Hayden

How many folks are looking at a fishing trip and are you chasing snapper / kings or keen on a few crays and cod ?

    What dates are you here.

    +1…

If ex Nelson, definitely recommend Barry and Lynley Bird.

    You’ll have a cracking day !

Dates are TBC but the festival is on the 11th of March so we would probably be looking at a couple of days either side.

6 of us but the usual story, subject to confirmation as we draw closer. We are open to anything on the more adventurous side over bottom fishing for cod.

Thanks to all those that have replied and given their recommendations.

We have been in touch with Barry from Seabird and have a plan in the works.

Sorry, missed this. For sure – we have decided to take a few extra days on and make the effort to get the D’Urville/French pass so a meet up at some point could well be on the cards.

This is starting to sound like a plan. I was considering bringing my boat up as well and staying an extra day or two in Okiwi. It would be good to meet a few like-minded locals and perhaps get out on the water or share a beer or two.
