I've tried looking around the internet and buggered if I can find one, but is there such a thing as a map of nz that shows the boundary's for the marine reserves?

Looking for the ones around aucklad area. I know goat island is one and thought okura was as well
https://www.doc.govt.nz/marinereserves
...gives a list of (presumably) all the reserves.
There is a map link at the top of the content,
But:
Click on one of the listing items - like "Akaroa Marine Reserve"
In the content for Akaroa Marine Reserve there are two links. One of which refers the user to the Marinemap App (because everyone in the world uses a smart phone for everything) and the second of which takes the user to a Map and Boundaries of the Marine Reserve.
Also on that page - GPS coords, and a larger downloadable (PDF) map.
All this is surprisingly useful, as it is viewable on computer screens and tablets. Or print it.
Much more easily seen, than a little 3 x 5 inch Jesus phone. Note* like many, I find conducting my life through a smart phone screen, restrictive and limiting.
Try this

Are you specifically looking for marine reserves or areas that are closed to fishing. I don't think they are necessarily the same thing.
The DoC link lists Marine Reserves, this MPI link show areas in the Auckland region closed to fishing.
