    fishing in the Marlborough sounds

Hi guys, I am heading to Picton for a week on the 17th for a week of fishing with a mate who has a boat moored in Picton. He hasn't really got a clue about fishing, so was wondering if anyone can give a tip on where is a good place to fish in the Marlborough sounds. He reckons the water has gone a bit green and there are no fish about in Pelorus or around Picton. Does anyone know if it's gone a bit poos or has all the recent boat traffic driven the fish out of the area temporarily ?. I suggested we motor to the edge of the Straight and have a go there but he reckons it gets a bit lumpy there.
He wants to concentrate on hunting, but I'm a bit keener to have a go fishing off a big boat since my one is a bit of a tiddler.
Obviously not after anyone's spots, but just a general idea of the techniques to use in the sounds.

Boat traffic always effects us here in Pelorus - due to its shallowness
And - this years its been manic
Also heaps of Jet Skies - 10x time more than any other Xmas
    Flash boats - Jesus
Must of been a ripper year 2021 for a lot

yeah Sarvo, my mate reckons there is a metric shitton of jetskis and geezers blatting around the place there at the moment. I'm hoping that by the 17th most poor suckers have gone back to work and it settles down a bit. I'm not back to work till the 25th ( yay for welly anniversary day ).

Lots of well to do types not being able to spend their $$$ on travel overseas so have bought / upgraded local toys instead.....Seen quite a bit of that.
