Fishing out of Kakanui or Moeraki?

We are heading to Kakanui for Christmas with the kids and am thinking of taking the little boat up with us if it would be suitable?
So who has used the boat ramp at Kakanui and what is it like?
Maybe it would be easier to tow the boat down to moeraki?
The boat is a 14'6" plylite fisherman.

    Cheers in advance puku

    Thanks for your reply @Harryg
Can the ramp been used on most tides? Or only more than half tide.
I drove through Kakanui the other day for a look to see where we are staying. But didn't look at the ramp.

Good fishing for Blue Cod just off Moeraki, reef/structure that runs east/west just out from the northern point of the bay as you head out, use your sounder and you will find it

Unfortunately since dyeing this thread I thought id have a look at the floor in the boat. And know the floor is pulled out to be replaced. Along with some rotten wood.
So long story short I won't have the boat on the water.
Definitely going to take the snorkel and mask though.

Man that's an awesome offer thanks Harry. We are only in kakanui for 3 days and if you are there at the same time and out works out I would be stoked!
I would definitely take my gear anyway
