Slow day out of Ohiwa harbor. The bar was a bit lumpy with more wind blowing than forecast but we push out as there's little swell and wind was forecast to drop, which it did.
Plenty of Kahawai around and caught majority of them on a little tungsten flea micro jig. Good fun on lighter 4-7kg rod.
Caught a few snapper, enough just over 32cm and the skipper got one decent one that came home. A good gurnard fell to a slow jig. Boated a small Hammer head shark, loads of mackerel and a 65cm kingfish which took a mackerel head.
Enough fish for a feed and enjoyed giving some to my mum, her neighbors and my sister got in on the act. Smiles all round.
Cheers FBD

Did you shoot out to the mussel farm? Filled the bin there last weekend
