It bucketed down all night but cleared up this morning- windy app said it would be 28-35k winds out the front / heads and sunny from 10.
So off we went around 8.30 got well out and it was looking pretty average up ahead but we pushed on.
Got to the western entrance and quite a lumpy sea rolling in from the north and the wind was at the upper end of the range. Decided to head for the east side of the Chetwoods for a bit of shelter. Drifted about for few hours wind got worse but we got 6 carrots. Said to the team bugger this lets get some cod then think about heading back home.
Well bugger me by the time we got the cod the wind dropped right away and the sun came out - better late than ever
So off round to the snapper spot on the west side of the islands. First cast a 64cm snapper nailed my soft bait. A couple more on board by the team 60 + 62 cm then I switched to a slow jig that got nailed half way up by a 66cm jobbie.

Pulled the pin at 2 and headed home- big sloppy following sea making things interesting but set the zipwake on auto and away we went.
Big team effort at the jetty cleaning the fish and the boat shared some with neighbours and back in the bach with a wee chardy.
And the rain is back![]()
