    Flounder

Hi Guys I was talking to a mate of myn the other day & our last flounder mission came up I said we need to get out again he concurred but said he wouldn't go out over the winter again because he reckond that's when they spawn & now that I think of it it,s around whitebaiting time when all the whitebait drag netters flick the baby flounder onto the beech & leave them for the birds ...I may have answered my own question ! seems a little silly to catch them just before they spawn.

Deep water for spawning not up in estuaries.
Went out last night myself and just had one for tea.....the last bit of rain had cooled the estuary enough to piss the stingrays off for a bit.

When you know those big barstards are gone, break out the drag net. I will go the deep end.

They are full of eggs pretty much all year round m8, when roe quadruples in size and is 50/50 bright orange/clear eggs they are actively spawning.
