Well stop talking and catch some bloody fish!
I got another cheat they can use ,got a few Inunga's in my freezer they could have.
Getting them down there could be a trick ,might be easier to get some down there
next month when white bait season starts .
Nothing wrong with using worms,
Have you tried worm soft baits?
I have heard that the chesdale cheese you get in block form works well too my dad used to do that when he was a youg feller living in Aratiatia to catch trout.
Spinner worked OK for me this arvo ,went down the river & got Saturdays lunch .Took me 1/2 hr max.
Picked these two and another up last weekend at lake Tutira... Stoked!!Attachment 12584Attachment 12585
That lake must of improved late autumn nice fish Hunt4life. What did ya catch Chris brown or rainbow?
Just a smallish rainbow Mr D ,the effzette 3d still working .
Dropped kids off at 1500hrs,PT lost a smallish one on a worm bout ponder I was told.
When I went back to pick them up I had a flick for an hour useing...........veltics,rapalas,streamers and 7mmausums home made lure not a bite on anything. Might try that effzette next time Chris.
The last flood has changed the river with piles of metal way higher than before.........still no fricken trout:oh noes:

The stone build up gives you a couple of good places to fish from Dundee
Looks like another couple km walking to the main water hole now. I respect the landowners decision.:)

Fair enough though Dundee.
Had a little reccy at the river this morning. There is going to be different possies formed when it gets low.Attachment 14790Attachment 14791Attachment 14792
You have had a bit of rain then Dundee
Some of the lies will have changed after that for sure .Nice looking river might have to come for a fish .
Yup pretty muddy alright. one day I will have to dust of the spin rod and spinners get a day license and have a crack in the ohinemuri river in the karangahake gorge there are a few promising looking pools along the road that would be worth a cast.
There's no trout in the Hake, half of Auckland already beaten you to that. I could point you to a reasonable area though .
Maybe over summer Mr D . Throw some gear in the wagon & head down for a few days .
Those blimmin Aucklanders :P I might just have to make a trip down to the haumarana stream mouth in Rotovegas one day to flick a spinner in there, don't have any fly gear anymore so can't go to the awahou to fish
YOU CAN GET A DAY LICENCE!?.?
One of the reasons I have never caught a trout properly is because there is no bloody way i am paying over 100bucks for one trout i probably won't even manage to catch!
How much is a day licence?

Been a tough cuppla weeks on the water managed a 1pound rainbow today that was released and a smaller one early last week.
A pic after cyclone Lusi, she dished it out upstream but we got none.:pissed off:

The bale is still in the river no way of retrieving it and don't how far upstream it came from.
drag it out with a 4x4 or the quad and one farking long rope
I think helicopter would be the only way as there are steep banks either side.
Get @Happy to retrieve it on his new toy,
