Where is a good place to buy gear these days. Been out of the fishing game for a while

What type of fishing are you doing? List what your after and I reckon those in the know will point you in the right direction!

I buy most of my fishing stuff locally at Big Blue and Burnsco for boating stuff tho I did buy a cheaper shimano reel and some lures yesterday at the warehouse.

I dont buy much at all on line but do use "Pauls fishing kites" for longline stuff and I havent used it but many do "Marine deals" they do seem to have good prices.

Torpedo7 has big clearances every now and then

Totally depends on what you are after. I shop mostly on line now but you do need to know exactly what you want.

Looking for a surf set up I guess and some braid for it...

Go see Simon at H&F. He is a really good guy and should see you right. Match a set to your budget etc. If you want something a bit special got to Tackle Tactics (Foxton) and talk to Phil. He is a super keen surf caster and knows his stuff.
