    I got a taste today

    On the river at 5am this morning scooping in the surf, I ended up with 2 kilo's

    my oldest sister wouldnt eat flounder because the eyes were looking at her..so we gave her one upsidedown on plate..after scoffing it down she had a closer look and had even eaten the eyeballs...mmmmm fresh flounder pan fried with just a light coating of egg n flour.... happy days they were.

    Oh yeah. What a nice picture of dinner! Can `t remember what was the last time I have a catch and cook family dinner of more than two people. Please share some picture of patties. Cheer

    Ha ha...no experience with whitebait yet but my wife once before insisted to gut those small tiny fish I caught from cold stream before fry them. Not like patty, but similar.

    I didn't use to eat oysters because of the gut but now I gobble them down, so yummy.

    Just don't think about it, just eat and enjoy

    Ok BR here are some pic's, most people just use egg only which I don't mind however I like the recipe out of the old Edmonds cooking book.

    A bit of flour, pinch of baking powder, eggs and water then stir until smooth, add whitebait and shallow fry in dripping.

    served new step son (12) fresh snapper caught that morning -egg and bread crumbed - poured tomato sauce all over it - nearly had to leave the room

    Try them with just egg whites whipped, and a little S&P, you really get the taste of the white bait
