    Kingfish hookup !

Primo weather in ch ch today , so was out in the water early to try my luck on a king fish . One hour of fishing drifting weed rafts with no joy , then I see my first one ever on a follow but no take . Threw the kitchen sink at it ( every lure in my box) and no go . Marked the spot moved down drift line and see two more and Fu@# they where big ! . So same again no takes . New strategy I'll troll 20 minutes and BANG FISH ON ! , set the hook and 5 seconds later gone broke off at knot , . Off to fishing shop to get better set up as I'm gunna get me one now , had a taste of there power and I'm still buzzing

Woohoo go Munsey. They are certainly fun and fine eating
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Try a Raparla Silver / Blue X Rap 30 towed about 5-6-7 knots. We use on our jigging rods so we ate tying them to 65lb braid with 100lb fluro carbon leaders.
    Works up here
Better then busting them off using gear thats too light, Toss the trebles and use bigger one or doubles (we grind the barbs off)

I wanted too . Marked them and tried to get a mate out but he was gardening WTF ! . I'm not confident / comfortable enough diving on my own 4 ks out to sea . Not sure how spookie they would be , how close can you get you think ! . They would spook at the boat at about 3 mts . So I think they would be a piece of piss even for a clown like me .

yeah 4k out would freak me out too i think
if your using a float line all you got to watch out for is the line, good shot placement helps too, they will come right up for a look at the funny looking thing in the water which helps
worth a go ,good story to tell when you land one

I will second them been great fun to shoot. I got my first a couple months back, it went 21kg. I was stoked, it came in for a look so was a very close shot.
im also a fan of getting them on jigs, i run a jm pe7 with 80lb braid, 120lb leader. and have still had a fair share bust me off.
