Another big day out off Hokitika yesterday, 12 hours on the water to catch high tide on the bar both ways. Had a bit of an explore of some new bottom and came home with a few large blue cod and terakihi, also caught a million spiny dogs, sea perch and a 1.5m school shark. Glassed right off and spent 4 or 5 hours trolling for tuna to no luck. Any ideas on how to target them a bit more specifically? No visible boundary to the blue water at the moment as we've had such a long dry spell, so it's right close in and there's a gradual change from clear green water right off the bar just dropping off to clear blue as you go out. Still chasing the elusive first hapuka, bass, bluenose and trumpeter from the dinghy too.
