I believe many folks dislike of trout is down to 3 things.
just like kahawai it needs to be gutted n bled properly quickly
the bones are tiny and if you dont fillet properly they are a pain (again like smiked kahawai best eaten with fingers)
SOME fish from SOME places have muddy flavour...Ive struck it once..searun from opihi that had been in lower reaches for some time,have heard its common in lake rotorua..a muddy lake,so it figures
and fourth...cause like most fish you have to know how to cook the plurry thing...steamed in tin foil with lemon...yeah nah..slimey and soggy...quick fried in butter straight out of lake.absolutely fanfarkintastic.
