    Napier marlin

    Anyone got any experience re how far from the port to the marlin waters?Gonna have a go this summer.

    Id imagine driving to whakatane/waihou would be more productive, could be wrong

    yea have fished there, definitely the place to go.Napier only a 2hr drive compared to 7-8 to waihau.apparantly the game fishing was pretty good last summer with some warm water coming down further than usual.

    Get a sst subscription with the marine chart overlays and keep an eye on it, you might get lucky again this season

    Join the Hawkes Bay Sports Fishing Club. They are a keen bunch of roosters. My mate fishes predominantly out of Mahia.
