    New Outboard

    Well I spent my money!
Bought a 115 hp Evinrude G2 today, hot price of $14,995 inc Gst. 20” leg. Get it fitted next week. 5 yr warranty and 300 hrs before first service. Last one available!!
Anybody looking for a 130hp Johnson 1996 big looper, done 300 hours and had head gaskets and thermostats done? If so I’ll list it under buy, sell.
    Boom, cough,cough,cough

You do know BRP have dropped the E-Tech manufacture - should not worry you with parts warranty I imagine
But came as a shock to me

Not those prices GA, best I could find in Honda was a 150 with 2000 hrs on it foe 13k, this is new and I've only ever owned Johnson or Evirude motors in the past 5 boats I've owned, was looking at 23/24 k for new 4 strokes

    You got a great buy.
Honde would be twice that - that price on the 115 is less that the 90 was from memory
I had the 200 HO - got 10 years trouble free out of it - corrosion got it in the end as it was never flushed and in salt water 365 days on mooring
Did you see what a 150 E-Tech was priced at ??

I had Evin RUDE and the thing shat itself under 100 hrs. Managed to find a second hand part to get it going. That was immediately before the Bombardier took over. Had a good run out of a Mariner (Merc I think). Now have 70 two stroke Yamaha and from new in 2006 it’s done 250 faultless hours. The 8 hp 2 stroke Yammie auxilliary runs 100:1 and will go all day as a trolling motor without issues.
That said, I was impressed with GA’s Honda, even though it’s a 4 stroke.

A beautiful thing. Had an older 115 in Cairns, no worries at all.

Any good ideas for covering the spare holes in the dash? Was thinking I’d glue some laminate over the lot? I don’t know how bad it is yet

Get a thin piece of Stainless cut to to a visual appealing shapte and then get a signwriter to cover it with a fake carbon fibre pattern, at least thats what I have done in the past
