Pikowai safe for kontiki?

Is Pikowai a safe place to fish with a Seahorse kontiki?
I'm a bit shy of that side after loosing a kontiki at Otamakakau last year.

Plenty do it, however anywhere past the Pukehina bar has risk with all the rocky reefs. She's also a bit slow at the moment unless you want kahawai. Plenty of burley in the water though, just saw two calves washed up by the cut :O_O: tags n all. And a shit tonne of giant sea snails. The gulls were having a field day. And the fishermen up on the groin were doing well on big kahawai here for the bait run.
