I'd go something like this - I find the Penn reels good value - get it spooled up with PE2 braid

2-piece rod rather than tele but you'd find somewhere to slot it in the vehicle.

Longer rod is better off the rocks but most longer rods are set up for bait fishing, or heavier for stickbaiting kingis etc.
