    Reel repair question

    I have an older model Penn reel that's not working properly. Thinking a repair job might be worthwhile if not too spendy.
    Who are you happy to recommend for repairs, ideally in the Auckland region ? But willing to go to anyone known for doing great repair work.
    Many thanks for any info.

    @ROKTOY
    Thanks for the info.
    I spoke to Jeff Murray today and will probably send the reel to him. Just easier for me to stay within the local region.
    Good to have an option though should he not be able to help.
    Cheers

    They are not too hard to sort yourself, it's usually a buildup of crud or crusty/rusty stuff or a lack of it that is the issue. With the older reels, some parts that proved prone to breakage are not available any more although the Penn ones are usually pretty bullet proof.

    I've rebuilt a heap of them over the years coming out of the charter industry, amazing how much better they go with a service.
