Whitebaiting, the spring flush, then the slippery old salmon all on the doorstep. We certainly have it good in Godzown.

Sheeesssh they are nice fish. The surf casting is useless here at the moment. None of the 24 fish we caught out in the boat on Wed were as big as your two.

I want to get into a bit of surfcasting this summer missed out last year and the surfcaster is just sitting there begging to be used going to look into hitting places like Waihi, Otamarakau, Matata and some areas over Coromandel direction if I can. Hmmmm Forum surfcasting weekend anyone?

I'd certainly be a starter Hunter308 but maybe spring when the bigger snapper come inshore might be better.
Looks like they starting to move now.
Another place worth considering could be Whiritoa ,where you fish into deeper water off the beach (just another option)

Actually I have never fished over at Whiritoa have been to whitianga and whangamata maybe I should add that to my list of areas to have a crack at. Just thinking I may even give Ruapuke a whirl too haven't done a west coast stint since I got washed across the rocks at Muriwai over 10 years ago.

I would certainly help out here on the Coromandel as far as a forum fish went. Perhaps Chris and I could arrange something for the spring/summer he is the east coast and I am the west.

The trouble is when the forum fish is over we will have to kill you all as your would come back and poach our fishing spots wouldnt you???.
