Thread: salmon lures ?

Just wondering what you guys are using, I have salmon in the rivers here in Cromwell, hooked a few trout but would love to catch a salmon.
Met a young guy yesterday who suggested anything silver that's retrieved reasonably quickly and spins. ?

I don't think they are big fish in the rivers here but have been using rapala's but only taking takes from Trout.

Just use a silver slice (ticer hex) 17grm, little red tag on the end,they will take it.

Work the rod tip so that as you retrieve, the retrieve rate effectively slows then speeds up, slows then speed up etc.

Fishing for salmon your supposed to fish the bottom , zed lures a commonly used that said iv caught around 6 on a toby

I was trolling lake wakatipu and getting salmon on tasmanian devils.
