Your Calcutta should cut the mustard, what size is it? I fish with a 400 with braid and love it.
As for your rod, the strayline rod would do but you will probably find it a bit heavy as the day wears on.

The best thing to do would be to just get out there and give it a crack, you will soon know what you "need" to make things more comfortable.

I think it's a 300. Nice reel. I think ill whack it on the stray lining rod and just go for it. My other rods are too light I think (4 kg). I have plenty of kahawai lures so they should work. Thanks for the help guys.
