    Saltwater fly fishing?

I'm looking for ways to spend more money on fishing gear while making fishing harder. A bit like bow hunting I suppose. Anyway, need a little advice. Does anyone on the forum partake?

    1) What line weight for land-based estuary fishing in the north targeting kahawai, trevally and snapper. I'd love to catch a kingfish on the fly, but not targeting them specifically.

    2) I'm a bit of out-of-date with fly line technology. "Integrated shooting heads" seem like a great idea to me for this style of fishing. Basically, an extreme WF line with a heavy, short head (e.g. Airflo 40, Sniper). Any thoughts on those?

    3) Opinions on the Primal Rod range, either Smash or Blitz models or the ultra value-for-money MaxCatch rods.

    4) Does anyone fish booby flies on sinking lines in saltwater?

    Thanks!

I will ask him. He's a bit unreliable though. More important things on the go for him.

Have you considered flipping the colours and putting weight on top of hook so they swim pointy bit up? Should make them less prone to snag if dropped to the bottom. In the 80s early90s bug eye nymphs were all the rage. Two linked balls of bathplug chain were used for eyes... They work even better on large streamers.
