    Quota as in limit = your daily allowable catch

    This is what is confusing the issue imo

    Kahawai and Trev dont have rec limit , as such, but just try on selling them, especially via a chippy, which is pretty much a cert as to what is going on here

    Kahawai and Trev do have a limit....they are part of the 20finfish (challenger) limit.

    They do they count as fin fish so only 7 snapper and 20 fin fish so could be 7 snapper and 19 trevs and 1 kahawai or vice versa

    Bastards. If they are selling them in their restaurants that must be against MPI, or foodsafe regs etc... Don't the fisheries officers have the ability to track these guys down and do a freezer check in the restaurants

    Thing is these guys know they cant be prosecuted on the water or at boat ramp with high numbers of that species.
    Anything else get the book thrown at them.

    Thats why maomao is targeted, fill the boat. No limits
