Young fella has just crawled out of bed about an hour ago, he is still worn out. But he can't stop talking about his day.
A great day out, several flavours of fish landed, a few flavours thrown back, mainly my 7 or 8 spotties, a couple of barracuda and a few sharky fella's.
It was neat watching all the boats at the pass hounding the ol king fish, sadly it didn't appear that many of the boats had any luck. We only saw one boat land a fish.
I started to feel a bit confused around mid afternoon as my shipmates began giving me grief about my fishing. Comments about hogging the burley pot, etc. etc.
Late afternoon with a 7/0 hook and a well dunked piece of squid hanging of some 40lb line I got a solid hook up that just sat as I tried to wind it in, you've got a big shark come the comments, then it runs a bit and gives a bit of a fight, shit no, that might be a big snapper, take your time.
It peeled of line, I pulled it back, peel off wind in, repeat, 10 min later we see some colour and the guessing game begins, Cuda, Snapper, Shark... then Joe sees some green and I'm sure a naughty word slipped out of his mouth, you've got a bloody kingy, dont you bloody lose it.
In the net and landed, Joe jumps out the back of the boat and starts to gut it, bugger me a second kingy comes up chasing his mates entrails. All the lads get lures in the water and burley was dropped to keep the kingy around. Screamo got a strike or two but no one was successful unfortunately.
Cams workmate had a few firsts landing some nice fish, I think he had a blast.
Thanks a lot everyone for a great day out. Thanks especially to Screamo for taking us all out and putting up with us.
I didn't get many photos sorry.
