Thread: southland searun

Managed to get away for a couple of hours chasing a sea run trout the other day.

after a slow paddle over to deeper water in flat calm conditions,i could see the odd splash and a few birds feeding..Soon had a hook up and nice little yellow eyed mullet was at the boat..Another few casts and a good take a fast run ,and i knew it was a better fish..After a good fight and a few trial runs itailed a nice 6.5lb trout into the canoe.

Fished my way back to the truck and hooked a flounder on route..Not a bad 3 hours fishing ,3 different species and great weather.Smoked trout for tea ..
