Tutaekuri River, go up Dartmoor Rd from Puketapu. Signposted fishing access can drive to the river a good place to wander and spin fish.
    Or checkout www.nzfishing.com

All the rivers and streams in HB around Napier hold trout. I even saw a large fish in an irrigation canal off the Ngaruroro a few years ago. Down towards the cities there are still trout in reasonable numbers.
Last time I was out there did appear to be some late spawners, and even with the whitebait runs finishing up I'd expect some good sea runs should still be around the river mouths. Try towards the Tukituki mouth. Lots of bigger water there which should be pretty sucessful to spin fish.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

sounds good, we often stay in our camper at the cliffton reserve so its not far back to the Tukituki mouth. we also stay by the ski club on the banks of the clive river so I will give that a go also. cheers jeff
