Thread: Summer camping and fishing

Hi all

I've recently bought a 12 ft tinny with a 15 hp outboard on it for fishing with. I'm planning to hook into the far north fishing over new years with some mates and I'm thinking of camping at Tapotupotu bay or Maitai bay.

Does anyone know if launching a small boat like mine at Tapotupotu is easy? I know it gets a bit of a swell

Does anyone have any tips or pointers about the areas? Eg weather patterns to avoid, straylining/soft baiting vs livies etc

Any help would be awesome!
