    Surf casting rewards

Spent a few hours at a favorite spot ,again Tu hua watched silently in the back ground.
Was quite warm on the beach in the early hours though.Nice way to spend some time
Freezer getting stocked now in case snapper bugger off out wide for winter .
Up the coast tonight for another crack at them ,hoping for another good result.

I made the meanest fish pie of all time last year with the meat off several very large smoked kahawai heads, fishgasm to the max. I'm salivating just remembering it. Meat off fish heads is very very under-rated.

They're 2 big Trevally 8-10 pound Puku , make premo raw fish or also 1 of the better smoking fish.
5 snapper - 5lb & 3 Kahawai one was steaked for my sis & the other 2 will be smoked .

Well done! I catch plenty of snapper when afloat, but barely catch anything from the beach and that's in the snapper-infested waters of the Northland.
