    Surfcasting off Pukehina

We just got back from an afternoon evening fish off Pukehina and had a bit of success. Fishing has been good and the last three times out have netted fish, a couple of nice snapper in the 43 cm range.
Just on the change of light to night I hooked a nice eater (43 CM) and with a few small Kawhai have enough for a good meal. It was a perfect evening the sea was all but flat with little wind and not to cold.
just as we packed up and I wound in my line I realized I had a fish on and and it felt as good as the one I had caught but as he came into the breakers ( what breakers there were)
he got off, damn the one that got away.
Have to go back for another go soon especially when the conditions are like they were today.Name: Sunset .JPG

I put a bathroom and a septic tank system 30yrs ago on a block on the right just as you hit Pukehina Parade. Maori land as I did it for Ngawhika's.

My son in laws Part of that crew, Had some awesome xmas days down with his family when his mum was alive, they have the most amazing family cemetery right on the water, in a lovely piece of native bush.
