Takacat inflatables

Does anyone here have one of these? Thoughts? Looking at the 340s model as an option for something I can throw on the roof of the truck and use for diving etc. Look like a great design for diving with the inherant stability of an inflatable and the ability to enter/exit straight over the front. Have an 8hp Yamaha outboard, would it push it along OK with two divers (freedivers so no tanks etc) and gear? I'm not too worried about outright speed although getting on the plane would be a bonus but more important is enough snot too keep it off the rocks etc

I dont own one but have seen one in action. Looked stable as and looks a good design. 8hp may be a bit undergunned, a 15 would be better

Owned one in the past. Good and stable. Not so flash in the chop.
15 hp is a good engine as easy to lift, plenty of power and worth holding on to if going to a different boat ie a dinghy

Son has a 4.2 hypalon with 30 Yamaha. Goes like a scalded cat. Be aware you may need to get your prop cupped as these rigs tend to cavitate, especially on takeoff and in tight turns.

I looked at these too - but decided not to as I imagine you would not keep dry - which is fine for recreation or diving etc but not so good if in the city moka heading to town (or in my case going out to mooring)

Would recommend these guys, made in ChCh not overseas.
