Werewolves need the moon, Haastafarians just need fightbait season.
Its just a fish too me but you would think it was life and death too some people.
I know people down there that are absoloute assholes during the season and pillars of the community outside it.
TBF its people from away that cause most of the drama. They rock up for a few weeks a year and think they own the place. Funny as fuck really. The local plod hates it and takes most of his ridiculous allowance of leave during October-November and lets some newby from Hoki or Greymouth deal with it

Might have too get that one.Cheers for posting Kiwijames.

I got sent NZ Trout Fisher magazine from Chris and theres some good reading in that. The article "Welcome too the Jungle" was written by a top bloke who came up from Christchurch and fished with the Dundees.

Chris has gone bush, hope hes got better weather than us.

R93 that was probably you in the pub staring at me like I had an arm growing out of my head.

I feel less foreign in an African village than parts of the West Coast.

And Iv been in a village that's mostly not seen the white man before.

Depends which pub it was Tim? Was I licking my lips and blowing kisses? And to be fair, its the people from away that stare at me like the latest circus attraction.
Its generally their first real live glimpse of a multi appendaged, enlarged forehead, knuckle dragging imp in the corner of a west coast pub.
Scares the shit right out of them when they seen me limp down and start the machine for their scenic flight, that they unwittingly bought off our hot wee money trap in the pub the night before

That would have been Smithy's tavern, Tussock. Even my son is on the photo wall there. Its now called the Hard Antler bar. There is a jug with my name on it for winning something unmentionable that my late mate was famous for.
Had many a good times in there, sort of stopped going when he passed.

I was in there I think was two roars ago , had cabin fever had rained for 5 days solid , place was packed hunters and 1 or 2 pilots , no shit the rain just stoped like you turned a switch . Blue sky in 20 mins 5 mins later the pub was empty half full jugs all over the place . Cool bar .
