    Trout Fishing in Nelson / Tasman

    Hi to all the Top of the South Trout fishers,

    Having read the Fish and Game blurb, it seems that Nelson / Tasman and Marlborough have some decent trout fishing, just wonder what its like in real life with access and fishability? I enjoy fly fishing but am really just a beginner hack at tossing flys and more enjoy been out on the rivers with the dog in tow.

    Motueka River, Waimea been the closest to Nelson and of coarse the Golden bay rivers, Buller and Pelorus and Wairua been with in a day trip distance seems like a not to bad spot to base yourself to chase the elusive brown trout. Access seems pretty good to most rivers?

    Family fish Wairau river pools (Blenheim) from main SH bridge upstream if not too far. They spinfish and do well.

    Some good fishing up the Branch and Leatham rivers too.
