    Trout lures wanted....

    Hey everyone,

I've upped sticks at made the permanent move to Sweden, where summer is about to get started, and the fishing has gotten off to a good start.

However, due to an 'oversight', my entire stash of flies and lures were confiscated while in transit in Hong Kong.

So.... I'm on the scrounge for some Veltic lures, as well as any Mepps Aglia and Rapala Countdown lures if anyone is willing to part with some for a reasonable price.

Staff in the local shops have never heard of the Veltic lures, and the Rapala and Mepps are wicked expensive here. Online shopping here has so far been pretty worthless.

Please let me know if you are able to help, and please save the heckling about carrying big ol' nasty lure and fly hooks in my carry on luggage, I had never had any issues with this before Hong Kong.

    Cheers.

What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Rapala are Finnish anyway. Surely they are not badly priced in Sweden? Abu Garcia also are Swedish and are the originator of the Toby so well copied by our local Kilwell. I would have thought you have an abundance of lures available throughout Scandinavia.

The Rapala's go for well over $20 a piece here, not even I am willing to pay that much.

The Abu Toby's are, however, more reasonable so they are on the menu.

There is a huge range of lures here, and I've landed a few with some el cheapo ones, so I can't complain! I had great success with the Veltics at home, so was hoping to continue the slaughter here.

Of note, the rainbows here hang on the line like a dead weight, hardly 'sport fishing', but they taste tremendous....

Was also hoping to bust out some Tokoroa Chickens, but alas, they are probably being 'diposed of' in the murky waters of Hong Kong....
