Didn’t realise there were so many branches of Trev Terry. Thought it was just Taupo turangi and kinloch.

Bit of a shame, they’ve been around a long time

Yeah bit of a shame for the old fella that the next generation has stuffed the family Business. Obviously got to big and greedy.
There customer service at Taupo has been less than adequate of late from my dealings with them this summer.

Looks like Hamill's clearing all firearms at less 15% off not to bad pricing, getting some quick cash.

I was staggered at the rate of increase in boat prices over the last 4-5 years. Literally increased 40-50% in some cases. Have prices stagnated now? I still get the impression that dealerships remain quite arrogant regards sales and think that the customer will still just throw money at them. Unfortunately my experience has been one of where the dealership rep has failed to maintain any kind of contact to nurture the relationship unless you are buying right now and the actual knowledge of the sales reps has been poor. If i owned the dealership, the sales team would have homework to do. I do not want to see anyone go out of business, but the prices need to represent value. Gone are the days where people are prepared to add to their mortgage and I feel for those that find themselves having to sell and are seeking recompense, but unrealistic prices through trade me. Ads like great family boat $100k, cost to buy new $150k doesn’t wash any more. $100k is a lot of money. I will be getting a boat in the next 12-24 months but if i cannot get value for money then I will go an alternative route. I do not see any major shift in the economy for some time and suspect a few more NZ boat builders/dealerships will fall by the way side. Trade me 6-8m boats resembles a list of desperation currently. Very sad.

Don't feel sad for them....they have been absolutely creaming it for years with huge waiting lists and huge markups.
Now is time for market correction.

Spoke to an importer yesterday. Worth a bit of coin. Was told to buy a farm or an orchard. Reckons there will be a significant correction in land values as costs escalate and income returns drop.Boats as a luxury item will get caned. This dude goes to China and London every 4 months.

Seems to be a lot of boats in the 'being sold due to unpaid storage fees' or 'dollar reserve must go' that aren't actually selling even at a few hundred $$$. This time two years ago they would have been selling for tens of thousands even requiring a bit of work... Not really a good sign - economist advice from the old box tonight was "survive until 25" meaning 2025...

All the nuts and bolts of the Trev Terry Marine business are for auction here. Closing very shortly:

Interesting, apart from the parts and shop consumables nothing is really 'cheap' is it?
