    The way it is.

So I get invited out for a days fishing, we share the costs , I bring burley and he brings bait and we both bring ice ...

Now I offer him some $$ , koha , fuel money etc he will respond na mate I was going anyway so no worries....

Well at the determent of my fishing this is the way it is ...I know you were going ..I know you would have gone with out me ...but I know that boats are and always will be a money pit ...I know that regos warrants maintence and servicing all cost ..YOU!

So you may have to buy cheap beer , work over time , not have a new flash reel or many other cool toys so respectfully I will put $ in your ash tray, please accept it. Put it in you sock draw so when bills come you have a bit of extra to help!

You should not go without, you share your joy with so many others and it is a privilege to spend a day out with ya , so please let me chuck ya some folding so you can continue to enjoy your boating without footing the bill every time.

It's about the fishing and the company not the catching! Well mostly!

    Rant over cheers Stingray!

    Can't sleep going fishing!

Usually it's just take, take, take, all the hours water skiing I've done and there's not many that offer some koha. I put it down to " you must have heaps, because you own the toys, same with owning your own business, people think " man your making heaps, I take hat off to you for offering and insisting, cause some times people also find it embarrassing to take koha.
Hope your reward is heaps of fish and good camaraderie today!

I'll remember that mantra "take, take, take" if I ever go out on you boat Maca. I'll take the fish finder, I'll take the CB radio and I'll take the anchor warp. You must be rich if you make offers like that. Oh ...... and I'll take the piss out of you! Ha ha ha ha. The dive boat I had year,s ago was enjoyed by many but paid for by one despite the fish, crays and scallops that were taken home in abundance by the many.

Yeh I have shitloads of it Maca. Auckland Council just gifted me a huge amount so they could put my rates up. I have never really been much of a fisherman. I enjoy the company and sitting there with a line over the side but I would much rather not have any bait on the hook and enjoy the serenity than bait the bugger and get interrupted by catching ....... Which then leads to gilling and gutting ...... Which leads to putting more bait on ....... I just can't be fucked with all the activity and would much rather just slip over the side and hunt crays. Not that I have done any of that in the last twenty years either.

Taupo, on a good day, jigging rod in one hand, beer in the other, just drifting, with some good music on the radio,my wife with her book and a glass of wine. Now that's pretty relaxing!,

It's the clean up after a long day on the water that ruins it. If no one sticks around to help out it makes a long day really long.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
