    Wellington charter recommendations

    Hi guys!

Have an event coming up in May and need to organise a charter for a few of the fellas, can anybody recommend a good operator or tell me who to avoid etc? I haven't fished in Wellington before so don't really know what to expect.

    Thanks in advance!

It certainly looks like it, have you used him before?

Yep years ago now tho, very experienced operator that can put you on the fish. He does grouper fishing in the trench

+1 for Pete. Had a couple of very good trips with him.

Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Going out with Pete tomorrow provided the weather works, can’t wait! Looking for a YouTube crash course in knots next, wish us luck!

Great day out! Really strong wind so he took us somewhere as sheltered as possible, still produced 10 or so good snapper and more kahawai than we all needed. He was an absolute pro, he had the patience of a saint (plenty of tangles and questions, we were all total novices) and knew what he was doing. I think it was $150 pp plus $30 for tackle, bait etc included. That got us the entire boat for 6 hours. Maybe cheaper to go on a share charter but we all had a great time. Can't wait for my next time fishing to be fair, its addictive huh!
