    6-8lb bog std nylon...maxima USED to be the go to line...the options are endless these days. if kids are getting birds nests..either you have too much line on real or more likely,they are winding while spool is turning..DO NOT crank on handle unless are gaining line. go to high bridge and dangle line down to just above water/ground and let it unwind....if trolling behind boat....possibly need to slow down just a little bit and/or fit better swivels.
