    Whitianga Marlin

Just had word that a mate`s wife has boated a Marlin in the Ladies comp up here today.
If you are keen, check out fishgrid NZ. Fish caught in Pacific marine and diesal (#31 I think).
    In quite close and shallow

Should also mention it was taken on stand up gear

The same mate caught one for himself this morning while fishing a comp out of Whitianga. At least 3 more Marlin boated today, with one possible blue. Also heard solid report of an old guy who has boated a couple of good yellowfin.

Just back from pulling lures around for 11 hours off tutukaka, couldn't entice a bloody marlin anywhere near us. Oh well, try again in a few days...

Those Whakatane Club rooms would have to be the best, leaves ours for dead. Their menu is also of a very high standard. We use their hospitality when I'm duckshooting or surfing in that area. Seaka Buccaneer Sport Pengy.
