    Whitianga Spot X

We are heading to Whitianga next weekend for a friends get together before they get married.
Girls going to Lost Springs one day while guys look after kids and next day guys going fishing.
Bad timing as there is a Game Fishing comp is on so going to be a fair few boats about

Looking for a couple of Spot Xs where we can take a couple of fish home and look like men

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks @Pengy
28 or 29 years ago a mates girlfriend had a family batch at Kuaotunu where we would take his inflatable out from. Not many snaps but crays were good.
Going in a 6m Scorpion hardtop

Thanks for nothing (or something next week) Happy. Remind me to tell you my Urewera Spot X that goes off every April
Same mate upgraded to a Fyran 440 and different girlfriend so Kuaotunu was off.
One day we launched from Matarangi to go around the back of Merc Island. Fishing was good but didn’t notice a change in the sea until we came home. That was a long ride back

We ended up playing in the current all facing wrong way so went out to slipper island and found a great sheltered spot.
Good bin of three to four pounders .Steady bites couple of Kingies gave a good fight just under limit so catch and release
Nice sleep then to Opito got a heap of scallops and back in again.
Helped do 700 mtrs of trenching on Bro in laws block then night shoot 10 rabbits 1 wildcat.
Great weekend. More trenching and pest control this weekend if the rain lets us.

Happy there are crays in two feet of water just over there. Well there was the last time I was there.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

With great sadness we are pulling the pin on going to Whitianga
Was looking forward to the weekend away and fishing but thats the way the weather gods have played their hand. The local fishing comp was also postponed till end of the month
Still taking tomorrow off to spend the day with wife and kids. Maybe Kelly Tarltons

Bugger. Still, there are plenty of fish at Kelly's place.
