I went for an unarmed wander up the Huxley a month or so back. Got my Terrano to Monument hut no problem. 90% of the track was all good, in fact very good in many places, just with a couple of pinch points around mid-way in where the track crosses some rocky creek-beds. I stopped and walked them first, picking my line and shifting a couple of rocks that were looking hazardous.
A standard double-cab may drag the tail a bit on those spots, just with the tight up/down angles, but careful driving should see it through.
A backpacker type in a slightly lifted Toyota Harrier had made it to Monument without much trouble, too.
The first crossing just downstream at Monument looked very easy, but I was happy parking up there.
