Asking Stations for permission to pass

    hi,
someother threads lead me to this Question, and its more about you personally and what experience you have had with say going into those river valleys whch have the Stations at the end and no "green strip" of access parcel from a carpark or the like, just a white border until you get up to the Doc/public land parts...

How many have tried to contact the Station via phone? or have you ever just drove up to their home?

Were you granted permission easily enough or were you denied for whatever reason?

alot of the places on DoC site have a contact phone number for the Stations needed for access.... im just curious as to how that works or at what percentage it works..

*typically in aus in that situation, the Farmer most often says No - as he "already has shooters go in there" as if its a special hunting right setup in the public land...

Don't worry, in Aus they'll soon get rid of the shooters.

Mate, another resource you should be aware of is the Walking Access Commission. wams.org.nz Have a good look around the areas you plan to hunt & put the different 'layers' onto the map. It might show public access ways/areas that aren't otherwise known or sign posted.
