    Coastal walk (Whangarei Heads)

Just did a nice little walk close to home and stayed in Peach Cove DOC hut overnight. We don't have the stunning scenery of the South Island, but it was a nice way to spend a couple of days. Cast a lure and caught some small trevally off the beach.

Nice spot was there 50 years ago, never seen so many possums, little grey guys. Mt Manaia has a chimney we pressure walked up, was just a kid at the time scary stuff got to the top & there other folk up there, there is a nice easy track round the other side. Good photos

Just a question on the lure. Do you just cast it out and slowly wind it back in? What lure do you use

May not be the South Island but still looks like a slice of paradise.

Lots of steps down to hut. But very pretty, been there twice. Once before they did the trackmup and once after.
