Gravel roads : SI & NI

Guys, looking for some recommendations for routes / roads pls

Does not have to be 4wd, just as long as it isn't tarred

Stuff like Danseys Pass and Hakataramea Pass.

We have done the main Molesworth road down Awatere valley and also the Rainbow road.

Long way away but old motu road . opotiki to matawai doc camp site at the start of otipi track that runs over to motu river. Unsure what the track condition is like at the moment, or the road that goes from wairoa to murapara might as use this road while its still open to the public.
Most roads around Gisborne are half sealed and half metal

They are trying to get rid of the great walk and huts from around the lake. So it can't be far away

    Ashburton Lakes

Worth a look we went in our 40 series never used 4wd but always peace of mind as a bit of rain could bugger you up in a car.

Ashburton lakes isn't a route, it's an in & out but there's about 80km of fun gravel if head up to Erewhon & to Heron. I do it most weekends in an Subaru Outback & good at 80-100kph. Funny seeing tourists driving at 15kph maximum heading up the the Lord of Rings site at Mt Sunday

True Ashburton Lakes are an in out.
A lot are like Skippers ,Mavora into Walter Peak.
We went up to Ashburton Lakes with a gale weather forecast.
Needless to same we didn't put up the tent.

Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out
