    Helibiking

I have my 18 yr old nephew coming for a visit around xmas, and would like to indulge his mountain biking fetish.
Looking for recommendations or suggestions for good helibiking operators on SI.
I have had a quick look online of course, but personal references are always the best.
He wont be bring his bike from uk, so will need to hire /borrow one

Wanaka! Some guys from work got choppered by Alpine heli to Isthmus Peak & rode down.

Heaphy Track can be biked at certain times of the year & The Old Ghost road trail has recently opened on the coast.

Mountainbiker covers a lot of sorts of riding these days so finding a style of track that he will enjoy is almost more important than the operator.

I have friends who work as Mtb guides around wanaka and queenstown if you wanted to be put in contact-they use all a helli operators that are set up to carry bikes(things have come a long way from the days of just stroping the bikes under the chopper on a separate uplift to the riders)

Update: My sis now tells me that her little boy will be staying with me when he turns 18.
    Could get messy
My instructions are to tee up as much adventure as NZ can offer

Pengy is he similar to you in stature? Can his webbed feet even reach the pedals on a full sized bike?

    Bit of an update.
The company that were first on the list, Wanakabiketours, have just informed us that they are not doing the over night trip that we had hoped to get the lad on. They also don't yet have the company website sorted for summer re payments etc. No impressed

There must be a facebook page or mountain biking forum where he could join and hopefully meet up with some people doing missions around xmas etc? I'd get him on the old ghost trail, that'd be an awesome ride

I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

Yep, he is onto all that stuff already. The things I am trying to tee up are for his 18th bday which happens to be when he is with me
He has sent me a wish list. Skydiving, heli biking snorkelling, jet boating, bungy jump etc etc
