Large Group options - Early October 2020

    Hi all.

I organise a "Dad's and Kids" trip each year to encourage our youth including some dads to love the outdoors. For the last 6 years we started with two to three families but it seems to keep growing with popularity as more hear about it and want in and many return(which is good I spose). Originally we were tramping into places in the Kaweka's, Kaimanawa's then did a drive in trip to Lake Waikaremoana and this year a drive in trip into a private block/hut in Rakumara's. We like to mix it up each year.

Now to what I need, if you can help?

    1. Do you know of any shearers quarters or bunk style accommodation (old school) or tenting sites in Paparangi/Kai Iwi Wanganui area that could support about 6-7 dads with about 12-14 kids below 16 years of age. (total about 20) We can tent but need some shelter for if weather turns bad etc. Don't need hunting spots - I have these already, unless you want to offer a kid their first deer?

    2. Any other Private locations/huts that can offer close hunting and fishing with in 5 hours drive of Hamilton?

Costs need to be low as some of these families do not have much income to spend on these trips even they all very hard working dad's. Cost of travel and food for 3 days adds up for a few.

If you prefer to PM me or give me a call, or even meet me in person to discuss, please let me know. We a good responsible bunch of like minded dads teaching our next generation. Thanks

Check out Aongatete Lodge near Katikati. Guess there will be a website. Also Waitawheta camp near Waihi. Famous for its Labour Party grope sessions.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Bush haven is a good base, plenty of hunting and fishing nearby.
