About LinkBacksWharengarara (Pimelea prostrata), also known as NZ Daphne and Pinatoro is found pretty much throughout the North Island. It bears reddish to white berries which are edible and could sustain you for a time...avoid eating the foliage!
This is a lovely little plant...lizards like it probably because of the insects attracted to its flowers and fruit.
